Lucknow: The Yogi government, which is striving to improve the quality of vocational education and training, has taken another important step in this direction. Under this, an important MoU has been signed between the Uttar Pradesh State Vocational Training Council (SCVT) and the National Vocational Education and Training Council. Under this agreement, SCVT has now become a certified “Awarding and Assessing Body”, which will set a milestone in the field of vocational education, skill development and entrepreneurship.

State Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Aggarwal said that the main objective of this agreement is to improve the quality of vocational education and training in the state. Along with this, the aim is to help in providing new and high-level employment opportunities to the youth of Uttar Pradesh. Under this effort, SCVT will now be able to provide timely recognized certificates to the trainees receiving training.

An institution is defined as an Awarding Body if it offers or provides certification for approved qualifications to trainees and ensures quality training and reliable assessment. Also, as an expert in the field, it can formally certify the quality of teaching providers, centers and courses, as well as the knowledge and skills of learners studying them. At the time of the MoU, officials of SCVT and NCVET including M. Devraj, Principal Secretary of the Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Uttar Pradesh, Chairman NCVET Atul Kumar Tiwari were present. Everyone welcomed this agreement and called it an important step for Uttar Pradesh.
